Children’s Orthopedics

Children are not mini adults. Their care requires an in depth knowledge of the skeletal growth process and should only be managed by expert, fellowship trained, pediatric orthopedic surgeons.

Those who have trained extensively for work with children use both clinical and radiological examination to assess patients accurately. Children must not be exposed to multiple X-rays or scans as consideration must always be given to the amount of radiation a growing child is exposed to.
